Next Gen Ministries

When I first came to the church at the age of 12, the idea of hospitality was foreign to me. Growing up, I lived in a home that didn’t value time together in the same way that I would come to experience at church. When I visited on a Sunday morning, I was greeted at the front door and experienced someone taking the time to get to know my story. There I realized the church wasn’t limited to a building; church is a family of believers who intentionally fellowship with one another for God’s glory.

Nathan Schneider, who has served as the Baptist Collegiate Ministries director for the Tampa area since 2017, was elected as Florida Baptists’ Next Generation Ministries lead catalyst.

Connecting with children and families during this time of a pandemic has proven to be challenging for Florida Baptist churches.  Yet, First Baptist Church of Lake Wales knows making this connection is vital to investing in this next generation.

People often ask me how I feel about invitations for student ministry events. After serving as a youth leader, youth pastor, and guest preacher – I have a few observations concerning responses during student ministry worship services.
