Pastor Jongha Park planned to retire, but God had other plans. He had been in ministry since 1996, serving as pastor at a Baptist church in Daytona Beach and for 20 years as pastor of Korean Open Door Baptist Church in Oviedo.

Culminating four decades of serving the Lord as missions catalyst, church planter, missionary and minister to the deaf, Associational Mission Strategist Mike Hoffmann will retire from his position with the Brevard Baptist Association (BBA) effective Sept. 4.

“Where do we go from here?” was the question Mark Wodka, director of the Canaveral Port Ministry (CPM), asked the Lord in mid-March, as the COVID-19 quarantine restricted cruise and cargo ship workers from coming ashore and finding respite at the ministry center.

Assuring its community that “no perfect people are allowed,” in just eight short years The Grove Church in Titusville has grown from a team of 30 to a congregation of 1,200 attending Sunday worship services on four campuses.

A quarter of a mile from Port Canaveral’s cruise ship terminals and cargo ship docks sits the old Cape Canaveral post office, home for the past 22 years to Canaveral Port Ministry (CPM). CPM, a ministry of the Brevard Baptist Association (BBA), has grown substantially over the years and continues to expand. Mark Wodka, a former International Mission Board missionary, has served as CPM director for the past six years.
