While pastoring in North Carolina, the Lord spoke to David Vannoy through Genesis 35:1, where God told Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there…”  Vannoy believed that God was calling him to return to the place of his blessing, which was Flagler County, Florida where he had previously pastored for 18 years. In October 2016, after months of praying and waiting, God opened the door for him and his wife Donna to relocate to Bunnell, county seat of Flagler County.

“While we have been a supporting church many times, Exchange Church campus is our first experience as a sending church,” says Lynn Hyatt, Senior Pastor of Callahan First Baptist.  And as a sending church they not only provided one of their own staff to be the church planter, but also sent out approximately 70 adults to assist in starting the new church.  “From the beginning of this process we have seen God’s confirmation we were following His direction,” adds Pastor Hyatt, who has served at Callahan First Baptist for forty years.

“I need some help with my life and marriage. Would you come talk to me and my husband?” This question was posed to Pastor Chas Rowland at the close of a soccer game on the grounds of his church. Pastor Rowland, a soccer coach with his church’s Fueled Sports Ministry, readily agreed to meet with the couple in their home, and a week later the husband yielded his life to Jesus Christ.

Pastor Garry Taylor Jr. has a history with this church; he previously served at Tabernacle as youth pastor for 10 years, left for six years, and was called back as lead pastor in October 2017.  And when he returned, there were 12 people in worship on Sunday mornings.  A once successful church now needed to make changes.
