Florida Baptist pastors encouraged to “live for Him Here and Now”
At the 2023 Florida Baptist Pastors’ Conference Nov. 12-13 at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, Florida Baptist pastors were encouraged to see the lostness in their current ministry contexts and know that God has equipped them to reach those individuals with the good news of Jesus Christ.
Pastors’ Conference 2024 officers elected
During the 2023 Pastors’ Conference annual meeting held Nov. 12-13 at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz, three Florida Baptist pastors were elected by acclamation to lead the 2024 Florida Baptist Pastors’ Conference.

Layperson Crick to be nominated as FBSC 2nd vice president
Layperson Jeffery Crick, a family physician at Mayo Clinic and member of Fruit Cove Baptist Church in St. Johns, will be nominated by Tim Maynard, recently retired lead pastor of Fruit Cove, to serve as 2023-2024 second vice president of the Florida Baptist State Convention.
Perez to be nominated as FBSC 1st vice president
David Perez, pastor of Iglesia Casa de Bendicion in St. Cloud and director of prayer for the National Hispanic Baptist Network, will be nominated by Manuel Barahona, pastor at Westside Baptist Church in Boynton Beach, to serve as 2023-2024 first vice president of the Florida Baptist State Convention.

Rice: ‘Keep the kingdom in view’
In the closing sermon of the 2022 gathering of the Florida Baptist State Convention, Willy Rice, senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Clearwater, urged messengers to “keep the kingdom in view.”
Ministers’ wives encouraged to ‘shine brightly’ for Christ
Approximately 225 Florida Baptist ministers’ wives, gathering for a luncheon during the 2022 Florida Baptist State Convention, were encouraged to not “hold back in shining bright for Christ.”
