The young woman chose life, and today Christian musician Lovins shares his journey, grateful for being given \u201ca shot at life.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The 15-year-old young woman didn\u2019t know what she was going to do.<\/p>\n<p>Walking home from the pool, she was sexually assaulted. She doesn\u2019t even remember the incident and had no idea she was pregnant until she went to the doctor after feeling ill and not knowing why.<\/p>\n<p>Pregnant. Confused. Scared.<\/p>\n<p>The teen\u2019s mother told her, \u201cWe\u2019re going to go to church, and we\u2019re going to pray.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Many Christians suggested that the young mother-to-be should get an abortion. Her initial plan was to deliver the baby and place the baby for adoption.<\/p>\n<p>That is, until she heard the heartbeat for the first time. She decided she not only wanted to have the baby but also to raise the baby with the help of her parents and brother.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Big God\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Reflecting on his mother\u2019s profound decision to spare his life, Christian musician Jason Lovins said, \u201cI know it could not have been easy. My grandmother very much understood how big God is. He is so big that He wasn\u2019t surprised by me. It was also Jason\u2019s third birthday.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Lovins has fond recollections of his childhood with his first memory being of his mother\u2019s high school graduation, the same day as his third birthday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy family made it very clear to me at a young age that you don\u2019t have an earthly father and we don\u2019t even know who he is, but you have a Heavenly Father who loves you. They would continue to remind me of that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s always been enough for me. I don\u2019t know any other way to say it. I was loved by so many different people. I\u2019m blessed that God chose to put me in the family that He did.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Thankful for a shot at life\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today, as he travels the country with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jasonlovins.com\/bios\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jason Lovins Band<\/a>, Lovins freely shares his story.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGod showed me clearly, \u2018There\u2019s a reason I wrote your story this way, and I\u2019m going to have you share this and give you a platform to do it,\u201d Lovins said.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022 Lovins released a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=858sh2ZPABU\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">music video<\/a>, \u201cConstant,\u201d depicting the story of his mother\u2019s pregnancy journey and affirming God\u2019s constant character.<\/p>\n<p>He hopes his story and the music video can encourage other women to choose life and, at the same time, inspire believers to minister to women who are making this decision.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the church has got to step up and help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For Lovins, what he\u2019s doing is simple and it\u2019s personal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll I\u2019ve done is share my story. I\u2019m thankful my family wasn\u2019t listening to the world.
